Visions of Sugarplums Dance in our Heads for 2018!

Halloween is just around the corner, but we have visions of sugarplums dancing in our heads while gearing up for another year of the Festival of Trees!

Festival of Trees (FOT) is a free, family friendly community event dedicated to raising money for our local seniors in need. Our committee is hard at work planning this year’s entertainment, raffles, yummy goodies, and of course visits from Santa Claus himself! There are even whispers of a fun “sneak peek,” but more information on that to come.

We are still looking for businesses and individuals to sponsor trees. This entails purchasing and decorating a tree and donating it to our event! The tree can be decorated before and transported to the location or you can decorate the tree at the location itself. These trees will then be available to be purchased in a silent auction. The community loves that every tree is unique and has its own story to tell. We’ve had everything from an Elvis themed tree to one made out of PVC pipe and, of course, one can’t go wrong with the beautiful silver bell classics. Interested in donating a tree, or need more information? Click Here!

In addition to decorated trees, we are also on the hunt for prizes for our raffle tree. In the past FOT has raffled off over $1600 worth of prizes! This can be gift cards, individual items, services, tickets, overnight stays, gift baskets etc. This is a great way for businesses, large and small, to get their name out and support the community. The raffle ticket sales alone have been known to raise over $2000 for our mission! Ready to donate? Please send an email to with the subject “FOT Raffle Item.”

This event would not be successful without the community’s support. The money raised at this event will go towards ensuring that the seniors in our community do not go without essential items like food, water, & electricity. FOT does this by donating the proceeds to the Comal County Senior Center and Central Texas Advocates for Seniors. We are so grateful that we will be able to contribute to this cause for the fourth year in a row. We are hoping to make 2018 the best year yet!
